World Class Skiing

While places like Aspen and Telluride capture a lot of headlines when it comes to skiing and snowboarding, Durango is also a highly-touted destination for winter sports enthusiasts of all kinds. Nestled deep in the heart of the San Juan Mountains, the Purgatory Resort is just 27 miles from Durango and is second-to-none when it comes to gorgeous scenery and plenty of top-notch ski runs.

Hiking, Hunting, and More

Given Southwest Colorado is comprised of 23 million acres of dense forests, rolling meadows, and cascading mountain ranges, many of us already living in Southwest Colorado enjoy spending our free time hunting, hiking, and horseback riding throughout the vast wilderness that we call our backyard. During the winter months, snowmobiling is also a favorite pastime, while four-wheelers and other off-road vehicles buzz along the endless network of trails that weave their way though our version of paradise.
