Walking Tours of Historic Downtown Durango Coming in July

Things to Do in Durango If you plan on making a trip to Durango this July, or just happen to live here full-time, members of the Durango Friends of the Arts organization will now be leading walking tours of historic downtown Durango every Wednesday throughout the month of July.

Stroll past the countless Victorian homes that line our charming Main Avenue and learn more about Durango’s rich and colorful history that helped shape our community into what it is today. From the days and nights of the old wild-west to the fabulous architecture you’ll find all throughout the downtown area, the Durango Walking Tour will cover it all.

Each tour will begin right at 10 a.m. and start at the Durango Welcome Center at 802 Main Avenue. Participants are encouraged to arrive early and each tour will conclude at the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum. Tickets are only $10 and are intended for both tourists and locals alike. All proceeds benefit the Durango Friends of the Arts organization, so if you’re looking for something fun and unique to do this summer, this is a great opportunity to learn a little bit more about our special Southwest Colorado community.
