Mancos Community Amenities

Although small on a map, the community of Mancos boasts a new microbrewery, a distillery, fine dining and an attitude of liking to keep things the way they are. The property of Jackson Gulch Reservoir, on the north side of town, is ideal when it comes to fishing for trout and even perch. Those living here bring their "wakeless" boat or even stand-up paddleboard to enjoy some peace and quiet right in town. Usually occuring on the last weekend in September, the balloon festival includes 3 mass ascensions and an extraordinary balloon flow on the final evening. Residents living all over SW Colorado head to this event each year to see the blue morning sky play background to colorful hot air balloons.
